OUR STORY

Where It All Began

Opening July 2019 may be when the doors opened to 4th on Main but that is not when the journey began. Centrally located in the heart of Buffalo rests a building that played host to many locals in their fondest memories, from the “21 club” and “Chaps” to “Tavern on the Creek”. Flash forward to June, 2012 and the iconic building would be purchased by Wyoming Native and entrepreneur Mark Riddle. Bringing new life to the building as the Clear Creek Cantina; It gained popularity with it’s sports bar style bar serving up Tex-Mex inspired food.


Half a decade later is where the newest memories begin. During the 2017 summer annual Longmire Days Mr. Riddle and The Clear Creek Cantina provided a 300 lb. block of ice to be carved by one of many local participants. Chef Chase Weeding, would be assigned the block donated by Mr. Riddle. With a handful of chisels, Chef Chase transformed a block of ice into a soaring eagle that was proudly displayed in front of the Clear Creek Cantina. This was truly the beginning of the road that leads to 4th on Main.

For the next eighteen months through a series of precise collaborations, trials and errors. The classically trained Chef and Entrepreneur produce a concept where small town hospitality meets big city food. Metropolitan style seasonal menus meet the gourmet comfort food of the west. Confident with the concept, it was the want for such a restaurant in the small town of Buffalo that was still awaiting approval. An invite to a conceptual dinner included members from several of Buffalos organizations including City Council members, The Buffalo Downtown Association and the newly elected Mayor. Dinner was prepared in a way to showcase the abilities of Chef Chase and what potentially could be the next downtown eatery. The unexpectedness of bold regional flavors paired with robust wines were welcomed in silence by the evenings guest. Slight nods of the head approving the concept throughout the table was all it took for 4th on Main to become more than concept, that night it became reality. Welcome to 4th on Main.
